JANUARY 2010
OXFORD COUNTY UBM
NEWSLETTER
We all have survived another year and I wish you all the very best of 2010. As many changes have happen in the past in the motorcycling world more changes are to come. We have voted down the helmet law with one adjustment of the age limit to wear a helmet went from 16 yrs old to 18 yrs old. Although the helmet is not gone away, there are still a few in Augusta that are trying to find ways to bring it back. The loud exhaust issues are stilling out there in the legislative world and again UBM & Maine Motorcycle Political Action Committee (MMPAC) must fight for our rights to ride motorcycles the way we do. U.B.M. & MMPAC do ask that we use our common sense when we are out there on the roads. As these issues come more into light we will keep you posted.
We will be starting up our monthly meetings again, we will let you know when. We are always looking for new members and to renew old memberships. We do not judge people by the brand or type of motorcycle that they ride. Our membership is open to anyone, regardless of whether they ride or not.
United Bikers of Maine is a Motorcycling Rights Organization working to protect the right of all those who ride motorcycles in the state of Maine. UBM stand for ensuring your rights as a motorcyclist by fighting “ANTI-MOTORCYCLE LEGISLATION,” and working to promote “FAIR MOTORCYCLE LEGISLATION.”
